While this is a blog devoted to the literary James Bond, every once in a while a bit of film Bond whatnot comes my way that I can’t help but share (and, frankly, film stuff helps drive traffic to the site). This is one of those whatnots.
This is a 100% authentic photo of Henry Cavill in 2005 auditioning for the role of James Bond in Casino Royale. The scene he is reading here is the casino banter between Bond and Xenia Onatopp from GoldenEye. While Cavill was only 22 when he shot this test, he looks damn good, and when I see this I can’t help but think about Jeffery Deaver’s new, younger 007 in Carte Blanche.
Of course, Cavill lost out to Daniel Craig and the rest is history. But no need to cry a river for Cavill. He was recently been cast as Superman in the upcoming Warner Bros. film, The Man of Steel.
I have uploaded ‘new’ images from the ‘WonderCon’ festival.
Also, I have added a poster of ‘Immortals’, which you could see at the festival. Enjoy!

Henry Cavill and Isabel Lucas head into the Montreal airport to catch a departing flight out of the Canadian city on Friday (April 22). I think Henry’s “The Cold Light of Day” jacket and “Immortals” hat are very funny.

Superman is back! On Sunday Warner Brothers announced the new caped crusader flick titled Man of Steel will feature Irish American hottie Michael Shannon as the evil General Zod.
This tim he’ll be squaring up to Henry Cavill, cast in the role of the new Superman.
“Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role,” the film’s director, Zack Snyder, said in a statement to the press.
Shannon is the star of the recent Boardwalk Empire and an Academy Award nominee for his turn in Revolutionary Road.
America’s sweetheart Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane, while Diane Lane and Kevin Costner will play Martha and Pa Kent.
Henry Cavill has described his Superman co-star Amy Adams as ‘fantastic”, and has admitted that he can’t wait to begin working on the new film.
Cavill confirmed that he had already met with Adams to do a screen test just prior to the announcement of the actress’s casting as Lois Lane last week.
“I have met with her, yes,” Cavill told MTV News. “There was a screen test and, fantastic actress, very talented, looking forward to working with her.”
The actor also remarked that the nine-year age gap between the two actors wouldn’t have any impact on the relationship between Lois Lane and Superman.
“To be honest, that’s a question for the director,” Cavill added. “Happenstance. I don’t think it matters at all.”
Dear fans! Vote for Henry at National Movie Awards. Award winners will be announced at the ceremony on ITV1 in May. All votes must be in by one minute to midnight on Monday 18 April. Thank you!
